What is Business Overlay?

Business Overlay is when you take everything that you do, driving, walking, talking, eating out, going to a movie, going to church, school, work, visiting family and friends, shopping, visiting museums, parks and simply taking the time you are already investing in doing these every day things and building your business on top of it

Time is one of the biggest reasons people don’t accept the offer of creating more income. They have the time to take on a second job, or go to the movies or eating out, but no time to make an income that gives them more time in the near future.

That is a paradox and we all fall in that category one time or another. But by Overlaying your time with your Business, you don’t go anywhere without actually being “in business” yet you are doing the same thing you have always done. The only difference is that you bring up your Business and have material with you for those interested.

Take Car Dealers for instance. They keep business cards with them all the time. In line at a fast food or in a bank. Always the opportunist, they ask, “Would you like to buy a brand new car?” then hand you their business card. Same with real estate agents.

When you want to sponsor someone in your Business, do you take so much time with it that they feel they cannot do the same thing? “I don’t have the time you do” they complain. It’s not the opportunity, but the lack of time. Teach them about Time Overlay, how they can be doing the same thing they have always done, only add a business to it be ready to do what we call a simple “One Minute Presentation”. If you do that yourself, then your Business will grow and so will theirs, because you taught this simple technique.

Any company that has been in business for longer than 24 hours should be concerned about preserving its files and data. This is especially true if every file is on a local PC that is susceptible to crashes, viruses or other natural technological disasters. When a cloud plan relies on the end user to do most of the backup, there is a lot of room for error. For me as an image consultant, Business Communication is all about the following modules:

Body Language

Body language is non-verbal communication your body sends out to people around you. Unless you sit behind a desk all day and have absolutely no contact with any other human being at all, you should seriously consider understanding how your body language is affecting your communication skills.

Study your body language with an image consultant and understand new ways to feel more confident, downplay any negative aspects of your body language, and so on, with simple and minor changes to your body postures.

Personal Impact

Your Personal Image is the key to how others relate to you. To be successful, you need a successful personal image.

Study your personal image – your personality, physical appearance, and behavior – with an image consultant to build or repair your personal image.

When you have an appealing image, people are more attracted to work with you, or at least listen to what you have to say.

I won’t get into the different aspects of soft skills training. All I can say is soft skills teaches you to communicate effectively. With such training, you can get your message across to the other person(s) clearly, without raising any misunderstanding or confusion.
